HAN interoperability demonstrated in Britain

Will the Smart Grid be the Foundation of the Internet & "Other Things"
01/04/2012A local health centre in Chorleywood has placed its first patient on their Hydra network of smart electricity meters and is now monitoring the weight and blood pressure of the patient in their own home. The system uses Zigbee wireless technology to send readings from the devices to the smart electricity meter. The Health Centre was selected to participate in three major research projects that will investigate how technology can be used to better manage patients with chronic diseases, one of these is Project Hydra, which Onzo is working on.

BEAMA on Smart Meter Interoperability

14/03/2012The buzzword of the day is 'analytics'. But what does it mean? After DistribuTECH in the US Public Utilities Fortnightly followed up wtih executives at several companies that are leading the charge in analytics for utilities. Nick Hunn, Onzo's CTO, was one of them. As their comments suggest, the possibilities are enticing, but a future shaped by big data remains a somewhat blurry vision.
