Onzo honoured at the International Business Awards

Onzo honoured at International Business Awards

Onzo, specialists in customer engagement, has been recognised as a Distinguished Honouree in the category of Europe’s Most Innovative Company of the Year at the prestigious 2010 International Business Awards.

The UK-based clean-tech start-up, which provides utilities with customer intelligence solutions, was selected from more than 1,700 entries received from organisations and individuals in more than 40 nations.

Judges awarded the Distinguished Honouree to Onzo in recognition of its innovative product, sales, marketing and management in the past 12 months.

Joel Hagan, Onzo’s founder and Chief Executive, said: “We are thrilled to receive international recognition for our innovativeness. Winning the award sends a clear message that Onzo is a stand-out company not only in the high-growth smart grid sector but amongst the ranks of all the world’s innovators.

The award comes only a year after Onzo won the respected Red Dot design award for one of its customer touchpoints, the Onzo smart energy kit.

The kit, which consists of an in-home display, sensor and website provides users with information in real-time about how much energy they’re using, how much it’s costing and gives recommendations on how to reduce or change their consumption.

Onzo’s products have already attracted interest from some of the world’s largest utilities, including Scottish & Southern Energy plc, who will roll out the smart energy kit to thousands of its customers later this year.
